ARTZ Sacramento

“Art has always moved me in a way that is hard to articulate. In one form or another,

it has had a hold on me and been something that I can’t live without. That tells me something….

that I need to be using it in a very important way.”
     - Tiffany Paige, Director, ARTZ Sacramento

ARTZ is an organization that links artists and cultural institutions

to people living with dementia and their care partners. Influenced

by science and sociology, ARTZ uses artistic and cultural

experiences as keys to unlock creativity, create new memories,

strengthen and develop relationships, and enrich lives

in new, yet fundamental ways.

ARTZ recognizes the wholeness that is inherent in each

person, regardless of a diagnosis. We celebrate each person's

capacity to fully participate in the journey of life.

We believe that access to creative expression is essential

to our human experience.

Sacramento Alzheimer's

Museum Project

The ARTZ Museum Program begins in 2012

Dementia-specific tours, as created by ARTZ in a number

of world-renowned museums, are now coming to Sacramento.

Two of the top museums in Sacramento, the Crocker Art Museum

and the California Museum, will each host one tour a month

for a period of three months

Ultimately we aim to create a permanent accessibility program with

each museum so that together we can continually enrich the lives

of people with dementia and their care partners.

The Sacramento Alzheimer's Museum Project is made possible through the generosity of Eskaton.

Eskaton is Northern California's premier nonprofit provider of community living and home-based

support for older adults. To visit the Eskaton website please CLICK HERE
