Before joining ARTZ, Cindy spent four years managing communications and grant writing for scientific projects at the United 707 of INSERM (National Institute of Health and Medical Research) in Paris. She is presently completing her doctoral studies in Sociology at the Denis Diderot University in Paris with a thesis focusing on Alzheimer’s disease.

Her thesis research, partly supported by a travel grant from the Foundation Mederic Alzheimer, was a comparative study in France and in the United States of definitions and care practices related to Alzheimer's disease. Her study elaborates the various ways the situation of persons with Alzheimer’s and their care are defined and the implications for care of different definitions. During her research in the US, Cindy observed and collaborated on cultural programs created by Artists for Alzheimer’s (ARTZ) in New York City. Soon after this experience (and returning to Paris), Cindy formally joined ARTZ and developed a European network of care professionals, artists, members of cultural institutions and researchers.

Cindy organizes activities and cultural opportunities for persons with Alzheimer’s and their family members. Cindy frequently lectures on Alzheimer’s disease at Schools of Nursing and Social Work, which are helping to create greater awareness and sensitivity among Europe’s next wave of health care professionals.
